PAST CONVENTIONS 28th Niagara Falls ONT Canada, July 3,4 & 5th 1981 at the "Sheraton Brook" Hotel. The Philharmonic committee to purchase and sent 10 musical instruments to the band in Krokees. Officers were elected as follows: Antonios Katsetos ( from Ottawa - president) Chris Pololos ( from Montreal - VP), Dimitri Katsetos ( from Rochester - secretary) ,George Anagnostakos ( from Rochester - treasurer). 27th Rochester NY July 4,5 & 6th 1980 at the "Hilton inn on the Campus" A fund raising committee was formed to aid the Philharmonic in Krokees and $620 was collected for this purporse. It was voted to increase our annual support to the Philharmonic from 500 to $700 and to soccer club from 100 to $300. It was also decided to contribute $ 500 toward the erection of a monument for the Krokeates who were executed by the Germans in Kokinoloutsa ( Arcadia Greece). Dues were increased from 10 to $20 annually. New officers were elected: Peter Antoniou (president), Art Demirakos (VP), Athena Demirakos (secretary) and Olympia Papas (treasurer). 26th New Jersey USA June 29, 30 and July 1st 1979. Society officers 25th Chicago IL 14,15 &16th 1978 at the "Grant Plaza Hotel". A large amount of donations was collected to aid the Philharmonic and a paralyzed girl in Krokees. Officers elected: John Stamas (president),Art Demirakos (VP), Athena Demirakos (secretary) and Olympia Papas (treasurer). 24th Niagara Falls ONT Canada, July 8,9 &10th 1977 at the "Sheraton Brook" Hotel. A motion was made for our society to help for the completion of Philharmonic building in Krokees and it was voted to sent $5,000 for this purpose 23rd Baltimore MD July 9,10 &11th 1976 at the "Venus Club". The general assembly voted to support the " Cyprus Children Fund" with $240 annually. The Library in Krokees is a reality and over $8,300 have been donated for this purpose. Officers elected: Steve Thomas (president), Tassos Xarhoulakos (VP), Berdi Kakas Treasurer and Helen Alex (secretary). 22nd Dayton OH July 27,28 &29th 1975 at the "Imperial South" Motel. Decision was made to start the Library project in krokees with $5,000, the largest part of which came from donations/memorials. Also Peter Antoniou from St. Catherine's ONT Canada pledged $500 yearly till the library was completed. The library to be housed at the Home of Dimitrios Goranitis, one of the first members of our society who had returned to Greece ,who after his death left his Luxurious new home to the town government. Officers elected: Steve Thomas (president), Basilios Seremetis (VP),and Berdi Kakas (secretary /Treasurer.) 1974 Convention to be held in Krokees Greece... was canceled. 21st Montreal PQ Canada, June 29 &30th and July 1st 1973 at the " German Canadian Center ".Library and Scholarship issues were discussed again and again no decisions were made . Officers were elected: Dr. John Merianos (president) , Nick Liounis (1st VP), Kostas Parthemos (2nd VP) and George Theodorakos ( secretary /Treasurer). 20th New York NY July 30th 1972 at the "Oyster Bay , Embassy room " in Astoria. Library and Scholarship issues were discussed but no decisions were made. New officers were elected: Dr. John Merianos (president), Basilios Karatzalis (VP) and George Theodorakos (Secretary/Treasurer) . 19th Baltimore MD July 24 &25 1971. Decision was made for the annual donation of $200 to the Philanthropic Society " Tavitha" " in Krokees. The society also decided to initiate a study for the building of a Play ground in our horio. New officers ware elected: Dr.John Merianos (president), George Chios (VP) and George Alikakos Secretary /Treasurer. 18th Chicago IL July 3,4 & 5th 1970 at the Hall of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Dimitrios. It was decided to open separate accounts for the library and for the Scholarship committee. 17th Dayton OH July 25,26 & 27th 1969 at the Stratford Hotel. A library committee was formed for the creation of a Library in Krokees. Also a scholarship committee was formed for the establishment of a scholarship for the best High school student in Krokees. Decision was made for the annual support ($100) of the newspaper " Ai Krokeai". Officers elected: Steve Thomas ( president), Bill Xarhoulakos (VP), Helen Alex (Secretary / Treasurer ). No convention was held in 1968 due to the death of Menelaos Alexakis. 16th Youngstown OH August 11,12 & 13th 1967. A $500 annual donation to the philharmonic in Krokees was established and $500 more was sent to the church of Saint Nicholas. 15th Baltimore MD August 27, 28 & 29th 1966 at the "Venus Club". It was decided to support the soccer team " Krokeatikos" in our Horio with $200 annually. Also $500 were sent to a sick and poor child in Krokess. 14th New York City NY July 16,17 & 18th 1965 at the " Roosevelt Hotel". It was decided to build a new church ( Saint Theodore ) at the cemetery in Krokees. Our Society's Youth committee was first organized. It was voted for 13th Youngstown OH August 2nd 1964 at the "Voyager Inn". Officers: Bill Stratos ( presidenr ), Takis Kontakos (VP), George Barris (Treasurer) and Ageliki Theodorakos secretary. 12th Baltimore MD July 4th 1963. Officers: Dimitrios Lintzeris (president), Panagiotis Georgakopoulos (VP), Ageliki Theodorakos ( secretary) and Kostas Thomakos Treasurer. 11th Held in 1962 No record found.
9th New York City NY 1959. It was decided to help Financially two Poor students of the High School in Krokees. Officers were elected as follows: Sarantos Panteleakis (president) , Mr. Stratigakos (VP), Mitsos Lintzeris 8th 1958 No Date and place is mentioned in the general assembly minutes. A motion to accept women as equal members in the general assemblies was defeated. It was voted to sent $1000 to krokees in order to re-establish a music school ( Philarmonic). 7th Youngstown OH 1957 The general assembly Voted to purchase and sent Chemistry and Biology Lab equipment to the High School in Krokees. New Officers were elected : Sarantos Panteleakis (president), T. Panteleakis (VP), Louis Goranitis ( secretary) and Mitsos Lintzeris (treasurer). 6th Youngstown OH July 22 1956. The grand total of $49,200 was sent to Krokees for the water project. Officers were elected as follows :Haralambos Georgoulis (president), Sarantos Panteleakis (1st VP), Dimitrios Christakos (2nd VP), Georgios Stamatakos (3rd VP), Dimitrios Lintzeris (treasurer) and Louis Goranitis (secretary). 5th Baltimore MD July 18, 1955. Decision was made to tax every member $50, to help the water project. An automobile (Cadillac ) was raffled . The general assembly voted to keep the same Officers as a recognition for their efforts for the good of the society. 4th Baltimore MD August 20,21 & 22nd 1954. Decision was made to start the Water works project in Krokees. The general assembly voted to keep the same Officers as a recognition for their efforts for the betterment of our society. 2nd Youngstown OH August 24 1952, Mahoning Country Club. A committee was formed to oversee the Water project in Krokees and donations for this purpose were collected. It was decided for our Society to join the Pan-Laconian Federation.
